Bolts' Seaside Adventure

I wrote a story about my two favourite toys:
                                            The Bolts’ Seaside Adventure

The Bolts, two handsome, courageous, white shepherd, rescue dogs were very excited.  They had decided to take a break and have a relaxing day at the beach.

The Bolts found a lovely spot on the soft warm sand with a lovely view of the splashing waves.

Nearby a group of school children arrived.

The Bolts had fun watching the children play in the soft sand. Some of the children were even having donkey rides! And some were having a sand castle building competion! Younger Bolt wished he had brought a bucket and spade!

The children were just starting to bring their picnic out. There were sweet, rich smells coming from the picnic basket. The smells filled Younger Bolts mind with food like succulent bacon, juicy steak, sizzling ham and other foods like that. The children threw scraps of the food to the Bolts! Mmmm . . .

Suddenly Older Bolts ears twitched. His erect pink ears had heard something, or someone, in the sea. Someone was in danger!

Suddenly Older Bolt leapt into the ocean’s rough and wild waves with his younger brother close behind him! They vanished in the cold water beneath the crashing waves!  The children stood there watching closely to see if they could see them. Everybody held their breath.  Then, with a big WOOOSH, the Bolts leaped out of the water tightly clutching a terrified donkey baby safely to the shore. The little donkey had wandered to near the water’s edge and had been swept in when no one was looking.

The Bolts were rewarded for their great bravery. The children thought they were heroes and shared the rest of their delicious picnic with them.

The Bolts can’t have one relaxing day, can they?!
