All About Dogs!

Yesterday I went to an amazing fair called All About Dogs in Newark, which is in Nottingham!  There was loads of cute dogs and I got to pet a lot of them! There were stunning German Shepherds, handsome Huskies, beautiful Beagles, yappy Yorkshire Terrier (Terrorists). There were also some unusual breeds like stunning Salukies, hairless Chinese Crested Dogs and long haired Huskies! If I had to pick a favourite, I'd pick the German Shepherds! There was an adorable German Shepherd pup, called Sasha, that I loved so much. She had the most beautiful brown eyes and when I looked into them, I could have snatched her up under my coat and carried her home! She was so loving, she tried to climb over my face! Good job I love dogs. There were dog trials and Agility competitions! There was also a huge pool for dogs to dive into! I got soaked because one big black Labrador made a giant splash! He had three turns, so I got splashed three times!

There was a small funfair, but all I wanted to go on was the Water Balls! They're awesome! You go into a giant ball filled with air and the ball floats on the water with you inside it! When I came out of the Water Balls, I felt really dizzy, but I think it was because I was hungry! We headed off towards the HotDog stand where I had a delicious, and huge, sausage in a bun! A few dogs stared at me like they wanted the HotDog, but I never gave them any.

The Nine Lives Of Montezuma

The Nine Lives Of Montezuma by Michael Morpurgo

Characters:
Matthew. Aged around 12-14, farm boy and Montezuma's owner. I like Matthew because he wanted to save Montezuma and not drown him when he was a kitten like his father wanted to.
Montezuma. The amazing cat who really had nine lives. I loved Montezuma because I love all animals, and he had a truly amazing life. Montezuma was also very cute, and who couldn't love a cute cat?

Plot:
The book is about the life of a farm cat, Montezuma. Montezuma was an orphan kitten. He thought his life was over until the loving boy Matthew adopted him. Monty had an adventurous  life, living in the streets, surviving blizzards and many more exciting adventures!

Opinion:
I'd say this is Michael Morpurgo's best book ever. The story was always moving and I could not put it down. I had many favourite parts in this book, one of them was when Montezuma survived a blizzard and saved the farm's lambs. I'd rate this book 10 out of 5 stars!

The Ghost of Grania O' Malley

The Ghost of Grania O' Malley by Michael Morpurgo

Characters:
Jessie. The hero of the story. Jessie is a child, around the age of 11. I liked Jessie. She didn't seem to like James when she first met him, but as they spent time together, they grew more like brother and sister.
James. Jessie's cousin and a hero. James is around the age of 12, older than his cousin. James was shy at the start of the story, but eventually he gained more courage.
Grania O' Malley. The ghost pirate queen.

Plot:
When people discover that the Big Hill is full of gold, the islanders want to cut off the top of the hill to make themselves rich. Jessie and Jack are determined to save Big Hill, but what can they do? Only Grania O' Malley, the pirate queen, can save Big Hill.

Opinion:
I found this book very interesting, as the story was always moving. My favourite part in the story was when all of the islanders climbed to the very top of Big Hill, trying to stop the diggers from cutting the top off it. One of the scary bits was when James and Jessie slipped into the water and nearly drowned. I learned ''you don't know what you can do until you try''.

Recommend:
I would definitely recommend this book to older children. The plot may be hard to understand for under 7s. I would recommend this book because it has a very good story to tell.
