Just Me!

I am just a little kid on a big adventure! I have fun all day, reading and playing and visiting lovely places. I don't go to school (not ever!) so I have loads of time for lovely things!

Axolotl

I was doing my boring Junior Science Book when I found out about the Axolotl! This is an amazing amphibian creature that can regenerate its body (If its leg is pulled off, it can grow a new one!). The amphibian is very rare and only exists in one lake in Mexico! It is now mostly a pet in an aquarium!
Its mane like feathers on its neck are its external gills. The creature stops developing when it reached its  larva stage and now it looks like a cute little deformed baby!!! It can grow up to 12 inches (30cm). It can weigh up to 100g (10 ounces)! They live for 12 years if they are kept as a pet, and 15 years if they are wild.

I would love one of these as a pet, I just think they are adorable!

This is an Axolotl!

And this is an Axolotl!

I wanna' go here!

I have figured out the perfect holiday! The Galapagos Islands! I was doing my boring science and learning about Charles Darwin when I come across these amazing islands! I really just want to go for the Blue Footed Booby bird!

If that doesn't make you want to go... Maybe this will...

Grass Hair Head

Here is a lovely picture of my grass hair head! Isn't she beautiful?!

She's twelve days old here and I grew her for Brownies.

When I next go to Brownies, I'll get my Computer Badge!!! I had to make a picture, print it off, save it to a USB stick, write down what a virus was and how to prevent one. I also had to send an e-mail to Brown Owl and use Google to find out about a favourite subject, I chose Katy Perry, or Katheryn Elizabeth!

Aqua Water Glider. My new creature!

I am loving my Galore Park Science Book 3. Here is a little thing I made in WordDocuments. I had to create a new creature in a new habitat and this is what I did:

Junior Science Book 3. Camouflage.

I have just created a new creature, the Aqua Water Glider. This creature is a carnivorous bird living in a swamp biome. This bird has adapted to living in its new habitat.

The bird lives in a colourful, tropical swamp land. So, its feathers are brightly coloured for camouflage. However, it has a sky blue underbelly so it's camouflaged against the sky when it swoops down on to its prey, both on land, and in water. On land, it hunts birds, mice, rats and maybe the odd fruit if it can't find any meat. It has a very long, sharp beak and sharp talons to grip on to its prey. It has also evolved to eat poisonous fruit and creatures such as toads that would normally be fatal if anything else ate them. Even though it doesn't have webbed feet, it is very efficient in water and it is really good at catching fish with its sharp eyes and stabbing beak.

The bird lays only one egg every year which it protects fearlessly  in the shallow water's edge. It builds its nest out of poisonous thorns and lines it with soft feathers to protect the egg; so the nest is a protective cage. Any predators that come to steal the egg will get a nasty poisonous sting from the thorns. The birds have adapted to have immunity to the poison.  The other Aqua Water Gliders will not steal the egg and in fact, the mothers help each other!  This means, even though there is only one egg, it will be protected by all the mothers and will have a large chance of survival.

The egg takes four weeks to hatch after it has been laid. The mother and father will keep on surviving on their own when the egg is laid and safely caged by the thorns. Every now and then, the parents will return to make sure the egg is still alive, and whenever the proper parents aren't around, the other mothers and fathers will take on the responsibility of watching the egg and protecting it. If the egg was destroyed or the parents failed to breed, they will just have to wait another year or look after someone else's egg.

These birds love being together. They are very sociable. The pair of birds stay together for life and will keep on loving each other until they die.

I think my bird has adapted well to its environment and has a very good chance of survival and avoiding extinction. These birds have no real predators right now, but there is one that is bound to come, the worst predator ever. . . man.

This is the Aqua Water Glider!

The Biggest Flower In The World!

The Titan Arum! The largest flower in the world! The Titan Arum grows 3 meters tall! It stinks so badly of a dead carcass to lure flies into it. The flies lay their eggs inside the flower and they also polinate it. I would so love to go and see one of these amazing, extraordinary flowers..But it is way too far away.....They grow in Sumatra. Sumatra is an island in Western Indonesia, to the west of the Sunda Island! Isn't this flower amazing! And so tall!

I have been growing my own plant for Brownies. It's a grass head! Here it is on day One!

Pond Dipping & Meadow Sweeping

Yesterday, I went to a pond dipping and meadow sweeping home-ed activity.Pond dipping was excellent! My partner and I caught so many things like snails, boatmen, great boatmen and loads of other things, but the leech was most intresting! I couldn't see anything in the lake, but in the tray where we tipped the full nets into, now that was full of weed, plants, water mites, and loads of other pond critters!

At meadow sweeping, I so nearly caught a butterfly...If I had just stayed still, I would have caught one! There was always one boy there that was really annoying....And, he killed a butterfly! I was nearly crying about him doing that...
The meadows were filled with butterflies! It was one of the most beautiful sights I had ever seen! Someone caught 3 butterflies and that was amazing! There where green viened butterflies, cabbage whites and tiger moths, but we couldn't catch the tiger moth.

It was a great day and on the way back home, I got a strawberry cornetto! I loved that!

Four Things In One!

I went to an amazing history and science show by Christopher Lloyd. I got his book The What On  Earth book and he signed it! That might be worth some money one day! He had a coat with 14 pockets, each pocket had something to do with science or history. When he pulled an item out of his pocket, he talked about it and told us all about it! My favourite one was the egg! Especially when he called it a portable ocean! And calling an egg a portable ocean is true! Eggs have water inside!
If you get the book, you're going to be learning about 4.5 billion years of history! From the very beginning, to the very end! Oh, but wait, it hasn't ended yet!
Can you see all his pockets?

I went to my friend's house yesterday! It was excellent! Tilly and Lavinia were there! We played Twister, but I collapsed and lost the game. We bounced on the trampoline and played a Princess and Tramps game! The boys kind of ruined the play-date when they arrived.... but, I guess that's just boys.

And that's not the end! I'm going pond dipping today! I really want to hold frog spawn and maybe a water snail! Mam is afraid of dragonflies, so she'll just stay away from the water. None of my friends are coming, so that's sad. Mam said I can't wear sandals.....So I'll wear my boots!

Jaime, Tony and Charlie came to stay for the weekend! Wow, was that the best weekend of my life! I love my little nephew (I wanted to spell it  nefuw but mam says that's wrong) but he is a lot of hard work!
We went to the pub down the road that does carveries and the best chicken! That was the first time we'd ever been to the pub and it was amazing!

Me and Charlie. He's playing with Mam's phone!
